How much does WordChamp cost?
Signing up for WordChamp is FREE for everyone. The following table describes the fees associated with specific WordChamp features.

Course Management
Course Management enables teachers to create and assign interactive homework assignments to their students. In addition to being able to see who has completed their homework, teachers also get access to a variety of metrics detailing problem areas at both the individual and class level.

I want to learn a new language — how can I use WordChamp?
What languages does WordChamp support?
WordChamp has been written from the ground up to be compatible with all languages. We currently have content, including audio, for over 130 languages online.
Which browsers are supported?
On Windows, we support both Internet Explorer and Firefox.
On the Macintosh, we support Safari, Firefox, and Camino.
On Linux, we support Firefox.
What languages have audio?
Currently, we have hundreds of thousands of audio clips in dozens of languages with new audio being added daily.
The audio doesn't seem to be working correctly — what's going on?
We use the Macromedia Flash Player to play audio. If the audio isn't working properly, it's pretty likely that downloading the latest version of the Flash Player will solve your problems. You can get the latest version by clicking on the following link:
What kinds of vocabulary lists can I create?
Using WordChamp, you can create five different types of vocabulary lists: Translation, Question and Answer, Synonym, Antonym, and Definition lists. Click here for descriptions of the different types of lists.

Can I add pictures and audio to flashcards?
Yes, you can add original pictures and audio to your flashcards. You can not however, use copyrighted photos, graphics, or audio on our site without permission from the copyright holder.
Can other users edit and change my flashcards?
Other users cannot change your flashcards without your permission.
Can I enter accents and other special letters?
Yes, WordChamp works with accents, characters, and writing systems for many languages, including Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew, Hindi, Arabic, and many more. For more information on how to enter accents or use other writing systems, please choose from the following links.
What options do I have for uploading and downloading vocabulary lists?
You can easily upload lists from files you have created on your computer, send lists directly to your printer and download lists as MP3 (audio) files to your hard-drive. For more information on how to do this click here.
How do I add sentences to a flashcard?
You can add sample sentences by following an entry with one or more sample sentences, or grammatical notes, enclosed in curly braces. Here's an example:

This will appear in the drills like this:

Note: please do not use sample sentences from copyrighted sources without first getting permission!
How (and why) can I specify a particular reading for word?
When creating a new flashcard, you'll sometimes want to specify a particular reading for a word. You might do this to practice reading words in a foreign writing system (e.g., Chinese, Hebrew, etc.), or because a particular word has multiple pronunciations with different meanings (e.g., "bow" = a polite gesture, and "bow" = a long-distance weapon). You can tell the computer that a word has a specific reading by following the word with a vertical bar ("|") and then the reading. So, it might look like this:

I'm a teacher — how can I use WordChamp with my class?
I'm using a textbook — can I upload the vocabulary lists directly into the site?
We have many users using vocabulary from textbooks with our website but we have to make special arrangements for their use. If you are planning to use materials from a textbook with WordChamp please contact us.
Can other users enter the online class I have set up for my students?
No. Only students that you give an invitation code to can enter your online class. You can see a list of the students who have joined a class on the class's detail page.
I am concerned about the online safety of my students — what precautions do you have in place?
At WordChamp, we are committed to doing everything we can to maintain a safe and secure language learning environment, particularly for students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
